Ultrasound Photos from 12/28/07

Here we have the last ultrasound of the baby girl. (Her name is still up in the air. I think it's a wait and see kind of a thing!) We are hoping to get another ultrasound, but that's up in the air at this point! I go to the Doctor on Friday for my 32 week check up. Crazy shit...I can't believe it's almost April!

Tour

So last night we had the tour of the Labor and Delivery floor. I have to say, it has taken away some of nerves about the whole ordeal. I would start freaking out when I'd let my mind wander to where we are supposed to go if it's at night and the main door are locked. The hospital is have a lot of construction done, so it's really a cluster-truck trying to get in and out of there are at any time of day. Luckily that's all been spelled out for us now. We saw the labor and birthing room. Scared me. Then she walked us all over to the other side where we will be taken after she gets here. The private rooms are soooo small. About 2 or 3 couples fit in there at a time. Standing there next to the bed, I whispered to Chuck "I hope I don't have to spend any more time in here than necessary. Just standing here I can feel claustrophobia setting in." He agreed. They also have semi-private rooms. The lady said that they fill up the private rooms first then put one at a time into the semi-private until they have to start doubling up. We are pulling for a semi-private. Seriously. Tiny, tiny, tiny room.

At least it put a lot of my fears to rest. Well...except for the whole labor and delivery part! We also saw where women get prepped for a c-section. Yeah I think I got pale walking past that part as well. It's going to be interesting to say the least!!

Easter with some Pregnant Pics!

Okay, so I was sure about this, but people keep nagging me about seeing a picture. I figured today was a good day since I actually kind of put forth a little effort into what I was wearing. Granted I was still in sweats...but the shirt is a maternity. Which I have been in total denial about up until this point...Here you go (actually who knows where the picture will end up in relation to typing this but y'all can figure it out. She is obviously riding a little high. She's all over the place normally.

Hopefully I'll have a couple of the kids from today either above or below this sentence! Looks like they are below the preggo pics. Oh well. Julia is a ham. Need I say more? Cameron...not a very 'boyish' picture...but the pride showing on his face is worth it all!

The kids actually missed today with their cousins because Julia & Cameron both threw up yesterday. We stopped by after Easter with the Samples and Chuck ran their stuff in to them. Seriously. Cute.

I hope all this makes sense...we'll see how the pictures are in order once I get this posted!

Happy Easter!

3 Hour Test

I survived! Yay! I had the same lady taking my blood so that was nice. She had to take it four times. The fourth time was a bust because my vein collapsed, so she went to my hand (where I would have preferred in the first place). I almost passed out before the last one. She said that was because of the orange drink I had to consume at 9:15 in the morning. Yuck. Hopefully I won't hear from the nurse on Monday. That's what I'm going with on this one.

I'd like to state for the record, that this is the meanest test EVER for a pregnant woman. No eating after 10 pm the night before and not being able to eat or drink anything until after the test? That's well over 12 hours of nothing (considering you finish dinner earlier than 10pm).

On the plus side? We went to Portillo's (conveniently located across the street from the hospital) for lunch (Portillo's is a really YUMMY hot dog/burger/pasta place. Seriously. It's good.) I actually ate a little over half of a cheeseburger!! It was so damn good. I even ate some fries! This was the first burger I've eating in quite some time! It was so yummy! I was afraid to over-do by eating too much and getting sick. That's one thing I've learned is to stop eating when I'm full...go figure!

28 Week Check Up

Friday was the day. It went well. She measures well. Oh and I have actually put on 6 pounds! I kept telling myself it was okay to put on weight since I am knocked up! Since I've lost somewhere between 20 and 25, 6 isn't so bad. I had to have the glucose icky test done. Just the drink the icky orange drink an hour before having my blood drawn.

The nurse called Monday...I failed. Damn it. I go on Good Friday for the 3 hour test. It worries me though because I have very shitty veins. Chuck was laughing at me on Friday. The woman who took the blood was awesome in the respect of getting me to breathe when she said too. I tend to hold my breath...because it hurts like HELL! Next thing I know she's saying, "Keep your eyes shut, keep your eyes shut. I've got the needle in but your blood isn't coming out. Keep breathing through your nose. Keep your eyes shut." Like I wasn't going to listen. COME ON!! That's even after I drank a crap load of water before the appointment. I can't drink water before the 3 hour appointment...it should be interesting to say the least!

A couple of weeks ago I met my friend Susan who had a bunch of maternity clothes for me. It was awesome, just like Christmas all over again going through the bags. I actually have choices for shirts for Easter and the baby shower! Woot woot! Thanks Susan!

One, maybe two pairs of my sweat aren't really working at this point, but I'm wearing them anyway. I understand the need for the panel at this point since the baby or I don't seem to enjoy being cut off in the middle of the belly!

I'm officially pregnant. (Yes I've been in denial) It's getting harder to get up off chairs and off the sofa now. Bending over ain't so pretty. Denial has been nice, until now. It's over.

I think that is it for updates!
