Getting there

So I'm feeling a little more human right now. The beginning of the week sucked ass and I needed help in the worst way. Chuck went back to work on Monday and it was Nyssa and I from there. Dumb. I was doing shit I shouldn't have been doing but had no choice. The worst is going from sitting to standing or standing to sitting. Brutal. It's not as bad today. I actually got some good sleep out of the peanut last night, which has helped a shit load. Also Mary Jo flew out Friday and has been a HUGE help. She got the laundry all caught up and has made dinner every night. She rocks. She's my BFF, yes, I'm a dork. If I could have arranged to have her all week I would have. Those of you who know what's going on know what I really wish for.

The emotions are starting to calm down a little. It's been bad this week. I'm hoping they are on their way to being somewhat reasonable again. I think the worst thing for me to deal with is being so frickin' limited on what I can and cannot do. I'm used to it to some degree from my tailbone thing, but this? Ow. I think I over did it quite a bit during the week having to do it all myself. I guess it boils down to the fact that I wasn't expecting this much recovery time. LOL. Oh well, she's damn cute!

I'm hoping going to post a teaser picture of Miss Nyss. As long as blogger co-operates. Hopefully by the end of the week I'll have more pictures posted and also a little more of the story of Nyssa Lynn! I got the picture of Nyssa posted and I had to post the picture of her little foot poking out of her blanket. I super heart that picture. It's probably one of my fave's. I love her. I still can't believe she's ours and she's here to stay! I love her a lot!

We are home!

We got home this afternoon! Miss Nyssa (say the 'y' like the 'i' in miss) is doing well. She just drank 2 ounces and is now chillin' in her swing. But I'm sure will wake up since daddy just walked in the door with Chinese food!

I'm doing okay. Tired as all get out. Incredibly sore in the incision area, but otherwise doing well. Getting up and down is by far the worst. Also not being able to do or lift things I don't normally think about, drives me crazy. Hurts like hell also! I'll post more in the next day or two. I've got to go eat now. I'll at least try and get some pictures up.

The scoop.

Okay. So the appointment for the ultrasound went well. She is weighing in at 7 pounds 2 ounces. (I think it's off, but what the hell do I know) The NST went okay too. She's not very active in the morning, so they shocked my belly to wake her up and boy oh boy did she wake up!

We saw the Doctor after. It's looking like this little peanut is going to make her arrival on June 10th. We are to go to the hospital at 7 pm on June 9th to have some gel put on my cervix to soften the damn thing up to hopefully deliver her vaginally. The gel will be on there for about 12 hours then on the 10th they will start pitocin (sp?) to get the contractions going. Yay. I want her out. Although it's totally effed up my mindset on a c-section now. (I'll get over it :) As long as the epidural works! The Doctor decided that since she was smaller than he thought that vaginal was the way to go. At least try. In the end I'm good with that as well. It's the recovery thing that concerns me with the c-section. Although with as stubborn as this little thing is being now, who knows if she will co-operate in the end! I've basically learned not to hold my breath where she is concerned! The only question is WHEN she will come on the 10th!! The Doctor's parting words were, "We'll see on the 9th unless of course you go into labor on your own." Hmm. Could it be possible?! LOL

I was totally disappointed that she is going to make her appearance this week sometime, but oh well. 5 more days? No problem. Now I can extend my cleaning list! LOL. I have all sorts of little things I'd like to get done. Why they are bugging me now, I have no idea, but still, they are bugging me. I actually cleaned out the microwave the other day. Go figure. I'm kind of annoyed I cleaned down the shower yesterday since that isn't an east feat right now. I should have waited!!

That's all for now. I've got to get the oven going for dinner. I'm starving all of a sudden!

Tomorrow's Appointment

We are so ready. Just to know WHEN she will actually be here. Definitely ready.

Floaty Baby to the right

Duh. I figured out the baby to the right is now counting how many days I'm over due! LOL. Duuuuuuh.

Ultrasound & NST appointment

They called this morning. We are scheduled for an 8:30 a.m. ultrasound then I think we go to the labor and delivery floor for the Non Stress Test. Our appointment with Doctor Locker is at 10 am. I called to make the appointment to see him and the lady said that there was nothing available. I explained then what was said by Doctor Locker, she put me on hold and squeezed us in at 10. She said for us not to be surprised if we have to wait. She wasn't sure, maybe we'd get right in, but to be prepared. At least we know to bring some things to read! The worst is when you are stuck in there with nothing to do but stare at the other women. Secretly I laugh at the ones that aren't as ready to have the kid, it's mean, I know. But I'm so ready! Chuck is too.

We actually put the base in the car, it's not buckled yet, but it's in there at least. We put the diaper bag (with an assortment of going home clothes since we have no idea how big she is right now) and the suit case in there as well. Yup. We are ready. Duh. I guess we'll find out Wednesday how big she is approximately! Yay! We'll see if she is my peanut or cashew! My money's on cashew!

Due!

Today is the day. She's not going to come out, though. It's hard to say where she gets her stubborn streak from, Daddy is pretty stubborn too. We are so screwed. I'm bored. Go figure. Good thing we went to the library the other day.

I never heard from the Ultra sound place so we still don't know which day the ultra sound will be on, Tuesday or Wednesday. I'll try and keep this up to date!

I added pictures of the kids!

40 Weeks

Today I was shown the light at the end of the tunnel! The only bummer is that she will be arriving by c-section. Actually, not such a bummer because at least she will be out! Ha ha.

The Doctor sat down in the office today and said, "another one." I guess this is the 3rd baby today that isn't co-operating with the whole vaginal birth thing. She is still really high, not even close to my cervix or birth canal or whatever order that happens in! She is head down and everything, she just doesn't want to come out! She's quite comfortable! Tuesday or Wednesday we will go in for an ultra sound then probably up to the labor and delivery floor for a Non Stress Test. After that we will see the Doctor. Assuming everything is okay and they don't take me that day my guess would be Thursday or Friday she will FINALLY make her appearance! Thank god. This Momma is done being pregnant! Actually the pregnant thing and feeling her move are way cool (yet creepy at the same time when I move a little foot out of my ribs), it's the tail bone thing I have issue's with! Hopefully my incision in the front will distract my the pain in my butt!! I'm hoping to see a big difference in my butt bone once she is out. It will also be interesting to see how much she weighs at the ultra sound. I know those aren't always accurate. But still. I put on 2 more pounds this week (I'm still down 8 from when I first got knocked up) so I'm sure she's putting one weight at a good speed. God knows Momma is loving food again!

That's about it. It just comes down to when we can do the ultrasound and stuff next week. Holy crap, I'm going to have a baby!!

39 Weeks

Today was another check up. Everything looks good. She's still really high. Figures. No sign of her to come yet. I asked the Doctor how long they usually let you go and he said usually not past 41 weeks. That's a relief. I was ready for 42! They like to see if you will go on your own. Fabulous. I just want to be able to walk again. Not let a big ol' eff word rip when I'm trying to get out of bed to go pee in the middle of the night (actually, any time of day) because it hurts to start walking! Yowsa. She better be cute!

I'm still feeling like I'm on a long weekend and not on maternity at this point. I figure about Wednesday I'll be starting to get bored and stuff. I've started packing my bag. Okay so I Have the toiletries bag packed. LOL. At least it's a start, right? I'm sure I won't get around to it, but at least that list is made!

Okay I'm off to go lay down (surprise there).

Wednesday, May 21, 2008

Today was...

my last day of work! Holy crap! I guess that means I'll be having a baby soon! Bring her on! A couple of days of chillin' will be nice, by about Tuesday? Yeah, I'll be starting to go crazy. At least I've gotten really good at taking naps last weekend. I was off Friday and Monday so I had time to practice. I know to enjoy my 'quiet' time too. There are lots of little things I can do around here to be ready. LOL...say packing a bag, maybe? At least I have the list done! A step in the right direction!

I'm to go practice laying on my side for a while!

38 Weeks

Yesterday was the 38 week check up. It's all looking good. I'm SO ready for her arrival! I'm ready to have my body back! To be able to take a walk! What little things in life I have taken for granted! I go back on Friday. Joy. I still don't think she'll be here until June. I'm pulling for the 7th, myself. We'll see when SHE is ready to make her appearance!

I still need to get the ultra sound pictures up and I'll have to see about taking another pregnant picture and getting that up here or on Flickr. Probably Flickr. I'll let y'all know for sure.

I work Tuesday and Wednesday, then I'm done until I find a new job! Woot wooot! I'm ready. The drive into the city and back are brutal. My rear-end will be grateful. Never mind the fact that gas is now over a $4 in the suburbs. Ahh...how lovely.

Talk to you all soon!

Is it time yet?

Seriously? Is it time yet? Ugh. I guess minus the tailbone thing, it's going well. I don't think she has dropped at all. I don't know if every baby does before labor or just when you are in labor. I have no idea. I'm basiclly winging it here.

In other news...I talked to Judy the other day about her coming out when the baby comes. She's been having a hard time finding a clerk to work for her lately (not just her, pretty much everyone in the small town Post Office's from what I understand). She has kept bringing it up about how she's not sure she will be able to find someone to work for her when I have the baby. The more I thought about it and when Chuck and I finally discussed it, we decided to take the pressure off of her and to let her know that she can come out another time after the baby is here. We know she has a vacation planned to go to Branson in June, so she can always use a few days at the beginning of that to come out. She and I have talked about that being the time that she would come out if it came down to it. She can even plan some other time to come out. Later in the summer. We will be back about 4 weeks or so after the baby is born. It sucks. I totally would love to have her out here, and not just for a couple of days. That's why it would work better (her figuring out another time), to know that I'm going to have my Mom out here for 3 or 4 days to help out and hang out. I think she'd like to 'wing' it and see what happens but the thought of winging it and then her NOT being able to come out would defnitely cause some more tears. (It's going to be a happy time when she (baby girl) comes, don't get me wrong, but it's also going to be sad because Dad isn't here to see his first grandchild from me.) I've talked to Mary Jo and even Debbie if Mary Jo can't swing it. I just need to know that someone from my side/Iowa is going to be here for me. Don't get wrong. I know I have all kinds of support and everything out here. Between Chuck's family, the Egert's and all the other families I have nannied. I just want to know that someone from home is going to be here. Even if they can't make it the day we get out of the hospital, a day or so after is fine. Mary Jo and Debbie both know this and understand. I just don't want Judy thinking (I told her as much too) that I'm being mean or a shit about it all. I'm not. Or guilting her, this is not guilting her. LOL. Please if I were guilting her, she'd know, I've got this Jewish guilt thing down. I think this boils down to the fact that it's about what I'm going to need. Kind of like the community Baby Shower in Paton. I was asked if I wanted one. I declined, very nicely. I appreciated her thinking about Chuck and I and the baby, but that is just not my scene. I told her as much too.

Shyt...The ONLY reason I had a community bridal shower? Because my Dad asked me to do it for Mom. I know my Mom. She and I have never talked about this, but I know my Mom and I'm sure she's pissed. LOL. I guarantee you she's pissed. She's probably telling people I won't even let someone have one for me. That's just not the case. The person who offered to have it, understood. What pisses Judy off, I'm pretty sure? Is that Alison and Mary Jo are having one for us in DesMoines. It's going to be invite only, and the invitation is probably going to read something about how gift cards travel best. (Hello? We drive a Camry, we are already going to be packed with baby stuff not leaving much room for anything else.) I hope she understands that this baby shower for OUR baby is about us and what we want. Not about what the town of Paton or what Judy wants. Judy had her two kids and her showers. This is for ME and MY family, not hers. It really shouldn't make a difference to her who has the thing. But it will. If she reads this (I'm not sure she does) maybe then she'll understand and quit making comments to people around Paton about it. If it really does upset her that much? She doesn't need to be invited to the one given by my girlfriends. I hate to be a shit, but things in my life are shifting. My priorities are changing. I've got a family here and we're adding another to it. That comes first for me from now on.

I think a lot of people think that I'll "be fine" since I've been a nanny for so many freakin years. Well, in reality? I'm sure I will...but this is MY kid. I can't give her back at 6 pm like I've done for all these years. That is what scares the hell out of me. It's different this go 'round. I guess those first few days having someone close to me here, even just to reassure me that it's going to work out, she's not going to scarred for life if I don't get the hang of breastfeeding right away. Just to answer some stupid-ass question I may have (and probably already know the answer to) and to tell me to stop second guessing myself. That's what I'm looking for...help!

Wow. That felt really good. That's been bugging me. I just talked to Judy Saturday about when the baby is born, so I have no idea what she has told anyone else at this point. At least people can read about my intentions of the conversation instead of just how they were translated! I really needed to blog about this, it's been bothering the hell out of me. With 2 week (almost) to my due date, I need to get rid of stress not have it added. LOL. I wonder if she'll blame it on my hormones!

(Almost)37 Week Check up

So today was back at the doctor. I had originally wanted to go back tomorrow but they couldn't get me in until 11:30 so I opted for today instead. Chuck wasn't able to go so that really sucked, but I had to go anyway! I had an 8:30 ultra sound. She looks good. She was hammin' it up for the machine (she's so my daughter)! The tech got a couple of pictures (which will be posted on here soon.) One of her face, and one of her nose and mouth. She is a ham already! According to her bone measurements she is weighing in at 6 pounds 1 ounce! The tech said that's normal she's weighing in how she should for 36 weeks. The Doctor on the other hand said it's low, that she's at 33%. I have a hard time thinking this baby is going to be little! It's okay though, because she can chunk up once she gets here!

The next appointment is Friday May 16Th!

Pregnant Pictures on Flickr.com

Okay. So Blogger is not being my friend. I wanted to post pictures on here of when I was first pregnant and still just looked chubby. Then one of me from today, looking incredibly pregnant. I went to put the picture up there and it's turned the wrong way. On my computer when I look at the dumb thing it's fine, for some reason Blogger turns it sideways. So instead I'm going with the old stand-by of Flickr.com instead!

http://www.flickr.com/photos/wacquie/

I just did an ankle comparison. YIKES! The top of my feet and the inside ankles are now swollen. Also my wedding band is tight. It's always been lose! Good lord is this a fun time or what?! I don't know how women do this more than once!

The different women I've spoken too lately say being pregnant with a boy is a huge difference. No doubt this is a girl! I just busted out some new onesis for her and about cried because they are so damn cute!

There you go! Time to switch the laundry! Good times.

36 Weeks

Today's visit went well. Her heartbeat is still going strong. The Doctor got a little freaked out that her heart beat was up so high (I'm telling you, she likes the top part of my belly-she thought she should be lower) so we had a quick ultra sound. Her head is down! Woot woot!! It's not in my pelvis yet, but she's in the right position, phew! She was moving like crazy, her hands were waving everywhere and everything. You could tell on the ultra sound that she has hair! I've been hoping she has hair! I hope it's dark, though! I had dark hair. I should have Chuck scan a picture of me from when I was a baby. Although I think it's mostly Iowa people that read this and probably remember! I had a freakish amount of hair when I was born. I keep joking that she will have hair because the heart burn is brutal!

I actually go for the next visit on Wednesday. I am having a better ultra sound done at 8:30 am then I'm seeing the doctor. This ultra sound will be to check her weight. I'm hoping for the 3D ultra sound. If that's the one we get we'll be scanning those pictures and posting them on here!

We also got out of the doctor that she's 99% sure she's a girl. There are a few things I"ll open up now and get washed up (okay so I'll wait until next weekend after the other ultrasound).

We are getting the kids tomorrow. We are actually keeping them overnight so I'm sure I'll posting some pictures up here or on flickr. I'll post a link if it's flickr.

Have a good weekend! I'm to run errands in the icky rainy weather!

Link to Pictures

Okay so I just tried uploading pictures to blogger and it was quite annoying, so instead y'all can go to this link

http://www.flickr.com/photos/wacquie/

to check out the pictures from the baby shower held on April 13.

We picked up the crib the other night from the Shapiro's. Chuck got it put together last night. Holy crap we're having a baby! Now I can put the big stuff in there and get it out of the family room! I'm pulling out the clothes and stuff she got as well, I'm hoping to put a picture up on here or on the flickr page of all her adorable duds! She is going to be one stylin' baby!

I'm itching to get stuff washed and ready. I'm going to hold out though for one last ultra sound. They want to see how big she is and we want to make sure she is a SHE and not a HE!! It would be just out luck, bringing home our son in a pink infant seat and putting him in pretty much pink and purple everything! It's just a little thing Chuck keeps giving me crap about and that has stuck at this point! I'm 95% certain she's a girl. But you never know!

Aside from the whole tail bone thing I've been feeling pretty good. Tired. But good. I actually was able to eat a little chicken tonight, which was nice. I babysat last night for a 2 month old baby girl. After having it all come back to me (like the burping, I almost forgot about the burping...oh and how mad they get when take the darn bottle out to do the burping :) Anyway...I'm definitely ready for her to come and say hi now. Not quite yet, but soon! The day after my maternity leave starts would be good!! LOL. I know, I know...I'm kidding.

Okay I think I need Tylenol and the heating pad for my heine now. Joys of pregnancy!

(Let me know if there's a problem with the link!)

34 Weeks

It's crazy that I'm at 34 weeks already. We went for the check up and she looks good. All the usual.

The only sucky thing is me! I was laying on the sofa yesterday at nap time and went to roll from my left side towards the right to check the time and felt a pop in tail bone. (My tail bone issues kind of went away for a while and came back about 3 weeks ago. Ow.) Last night was horrible. I can get into a standing position, but going to take a step is when it hurts like a MF! I was telling the nurse today, and the next thing I knew I was being checked to make sure everything was okay up in there! Everything is good, still where it should be. I was told to take some Tylenol and do the heating pad. She also suggested physical therapy. I'm going to try the other things first and also our indoor pool, in hopes of giving it some relief. It's not going to be possible for me to take any time off from work (especially since they haven't even started looking for a replacement). If it's not better in the next week or so, I'll obviously re-evaluate then. I was telling Chuck that delivery doesn't scare me so much now that I've felt this pain, because at least when I'm in labor I'll get an epidural! He started laughing.

I was up every couple of hours through the night. The best way I could try to explain it to Chuck twas to say that when I roll over or try to take a step it feels like my hips are coming together to grind into my tail bone. SUCKS something awful. It's almost over though! Yay!

There is your update. At least she is doing well, and her heartbeat is strong. I couldn't ask for more, everything else will end!

4/11/08 Friday

Okay. So I'm a little behind. I'll try to catch up a little. On Friday (the 11th) I ended up going to our regular Doctor! I was on vacation starting on Wednesday last week. Well, on Sunday I started feeling like I was catching a cold, no big deal, I've had few during this pregnancy. By Thursday I knew it wasn't gonig to be good. My breathing started to suck and when I would lay down all I would do is start coughing. Friday morning Chuck convinced me to go to the Doctor. I called the baby Doc and they said to go to my other doc. I call the other Doc and they tell me to go to the baby doc. Figures. I obviously end up at the regular Doctor. Chuck had reminded me that since I had pneumonia about 5 years ago and was hospitalized for it I'm more susceptable to getting it now. Well, that's the last thing I need. We go in, the Doctor said it wasn't pneumonia but sounded like the start of bronchitis. Lovely. He gave me a z-pack. I was so miserable it was nice tosee a light at the end of the tunnel. Saturday morning I still sounded sick, but could breathe so much better! Unless of course I moved too quickly and got my heart rate up which then caused me to go into a coughing fit. I was afraid to wait until Monday to go in to the Doctor since the baby shower was on Sunday also. Thank goodness. (The baby shower will be in the next post. Hopefully along with pictures that are at home.) I'm feeling much much better. Although my tummy is still a little funky, and I've notice my ear is acting up. But that is all gravy compared to breathing like crap!

I go for the 36 week check up on Friday! I totally forgot that we need toget the hospital paperwork done and sent in! I think Thursday night is the night to finish that off!

Chuck is closing tonight so hopefully I'll get to the computer to put up a couple of pictures too!

32 Weeks

Friday was my 32 week check up! All went well. The baby measure's well and I even lost another pound! Go figure!

We start the every two week appointments now. The next one is the 18th. This Doctor said that we will make arrangements to make an appointment for an ultra sound to see how big she is getting. I think I'll go May 2nd for a two week and after that it's once a week! Yikes! I'd guess it's getting close! No more denial!

Next weekend is the baby shower out here. Judy and my cousin Debbie are coming out for it, so it should be a good time! Jeff is also spending a few days here in downtown Chicago for meetings, so when they all get here on the 12th we will take Jeff downtown, get him checked in and then do something for before dinner. It's also Chuck's birthday, so it will be a good time to celebrate! Judy and Debbie go back on Monday with the shower being on Sunday. We are getting the kids on that Sunday. Julia will come with us to the shower, and Cameron will hang out with Daddy. I'm going to have the boys come for about the last half hour so everyone can meet Chuck and see the boy!

I'll post tonight or tomorrow night about my girls night I had last night! I met Alison and Mary Jo in Davenport. They wanted to see the baby belly, and it was so nice to just hang out with them. I'll post a couple of pictures later also.

That's it for now! I hope everyone had a great weekend!

Ultrasound Photos from 12/28/07

Here we have the last ultrasound of the baby girl. (Her name is still up in the air. I think it's a wait and see kind of a thing!) We are hoping to get another ultrasound, but that's up in the air at this point! I go to the Doctor on Friday for my 32 week check up. Crazy shit...I can't believe it's almost April!

Tour

So last night we had the tour of the Labor and Delivery floor. I have to say, it has taken away some of nerves about the whole ordeal. I would start freaking out when I'd let my mind wander to where we are supposed to go if it's at night and the main door are locked. The hospital is have a lot of construction done, so it's really a cluster-truck trying to get in and out of there are at any time of day. Luckily that's all been spelled out for us now. We saw the labor and birthing room. Scared me. Then she walked us all over to the other side where we will be taken after she gets here. The private rooms are soooo small. About 2 or 3 couples fit in there at a time. Standing there next to the bed, I whispered to Chuck "I hope I don't have to spend any more time in here than necessary. Just standing here I can feel claustrophobia setting in." He agreed. They also have semi-private rooms. The lady said that they fill up the private rooms first then put one at a time into the semi-private until they have to start doubling up. We are pulling for a semi-private. Seriously. Tiny, tiny, tiny room.

At least it put a lot of my fears to rest. Well...except for the whole labor and delivery part! We also saw where women get prepped for a c-section. Yeah I think I got pale walking past that part as well. It's going to be interesting to say the least!!

3 Hour Test

I passed! Yesssssss! I wasn't even close to being borderline! Phew!

Easter with some Pregnant Pics!

Okay, so I was sure about this, but people keep nagging me about seeing a picture. I figured today was a good day since I actually kind of put forth a little effort into what I was wearing. Granted I was still in sweats...but the shirt is a maternity. Which I have been in total denial about up until this point...Here you go (actually who knows where the picture will end up in relation to typing this but y'all can figure it out. She is obviously riding a little high. She's all over the place normally.

Hopefully I'll have a couple of the kids from today either above or below this sentence! Looks like they are below the preggo pics. Oh well. Julia is a ham. Need I say more? Cameron...not a very 'boyish' picture...but the pride showing on his face is worth it all!

The kids actually missed today with their cousins because Julia & Cameron both threw up yesterday. We stopped by after Easter with the Samples and Chuck ran their stuff in to them. Seriously. Cute.

I hope all this makes sense...we'll see how the pictures are in order once I get this posted!

Happy Easter!

3 Hour Test

I survived! Yay! I had the same lady taking my blood so that was nice. She had to take it four times. The fourth time was a bust because my vein collapsed, so she went to my hand (where I would have preferred in the first place). I almost passed out before the last one. She said that was because of the orange drink I had to consume at 9:15 in the morning. Yuck. Hopefully I won't hear from the nurse on Monday. That's what I'm going with on this one.

I'd like to state for the record, that this is the meanest test EVER for a pregnant woman. No eating after 10 pm the night before and not being able to eat or drink anything until after the test? That's well over 12 hours of nothing (considering you finish dinner earlier than 10pm).

On the plus side? We went to Portillo's (conveniently located across the street from the hospital) for lunch (Portillo's is a really YUMMY hot dog/burger/pasta place. Seriously. It's good.) I actually ate a little over half of a cheeseburger!! It was so damn good. I even ate some fries! This was the first burger I've eating in quite some time! It was so yummy! I was afraid to over-do by eating too much and getting sick. That's one thing I've learned is to stop eating when I'm full...go figure!

28 Week Check Up

Friday was the day. It went well. She measures well. Oh and I have actually put on 6 pounds! I kept telling myself it was okay to put on weight since I am knocked up! Since I've lost somewhere between 20 and 25, 6 isn't so bad. I had to have the glucose icky test done. Just the drink the icky orange drink an hour before having my blood drawn.

************************************************************************************

The nurse called Monday...I failed. Damn it. I go on Good Friday for the 3 hour test. It worries me though because I have very shitty veins. Chuck was laughing at me on Friday. The woman who took the blood was awesome in the respect of getting me to breathe when she said too. I tend to hold my breath...because it hurts like HELL! Next thing I know she's saying, "Keep your eyes shut, keep your eyes shut. I've got the needle in but your blood isn't coming out. Keep breathing through your nose. Keep your eyes shut." Like I wasn't going to listen. COME ON!! That's even after I drank a crap load of water before the appointment. I can't drink water before the 3 hour appointment...it should be interesting to say the least!

************************************************************************************

A couple of weeks ago I met my friend Susan who had a bunch of maternity clothes for me. It was awesome, just like Christmas all over again going through the bags. I actually have choices for shirts for Easter and the baby shower! Woot woot! Thanks Susan!

One, maybe two pairs of my sweat aren't really working at this point, but I'm wearing them anyway. I understand the need for the panel at this point since the baby or I don't seem to enjoy being cut off in the middle of the belly!

I'm officially pregnant. (Yes I've been in denial) It's getting harder to get up off chairs and off the sofa now. Bending over ain't so pretty. Denial has been nice, until now. It's over.

I think that is it for updates!

Snow

Is so over-rated. It's all pretty and everything, but come on! I'm having flash backs to when I was little and field behind our house was just a never ending mountain of snow! We are set to get another snow storm tomorrow. We were suppsed to move the sofa bed up from B-ville, but I think we are stopping that because it will just be an icky mess with snow/rain and all that fun stuff. As long as the chair makes it downstairs I'll have an idea of what I'm working with here!

Chuck and I are off tomorrow to go to Ikea to get some nice organizing stuff for our apartment. Like I told him, I don't care if it's put together, I just want the stuff so I know what I'm doing trying to make everything work in this apartment. It's going to get even more crowded come the end of May beginning of June around here. Never mind all the 'baby equipment' we'll have around also!

I'm also off to Target today to do some returns. I'm going to check out the baby section (as usual) and see if they have the swing that you plug in! That makes me very damn happy. I had found a different pattern I had liked at Wal-Fart, but will happily switch to a swing that plugs and doesn't use up so damn batteries! That makes me happy. I just hope it's cute and not butt ass ugly! Oh well, she will never know!

I'm off to enjoy the day now!

Results

So they did some girlie stuff at the last appointment. What do you know I have a lovely yeast infection AND a bacterial infection going on. Nice. This is the second round of meds for the bacterial thing. Yucko.

My other complain right now? The freakin' weather. When is it all going to melt and go away? I type this as they are talking about our third snow storm in a week starting tomorrow night at rush hour! I would normally stay the night at work, but not on Valentine's Day! That is going to be one fun ass drive. It's only about 25 miles from work to home. But in traffic, like this morning it can take up to 2 1/2 hours! Gotta love Chicago traffic!

24 week check up

Let me just say...6 months! Holy shit! It hit me the other day that she will be here in 3 months give or take! Yikes!

So the check up went well. She measures 'very good' as the doctor said. I've lost another 8 pounds, go figure. Chuck calls it the 'pregnancy diet'. Figures. Only I would get knocked up and lose weight in the process. The doctor showed no signs of worry that I'm losing weight still. I was actually quite shocked that I lost 8 pounds in a month, since I feel like I'm eating a lot more than I was before! Thank God. I think my jaw hit the floor when she weighed me. LOL. It explains why I have to pay attention to my wedding band since there are times when I look down and it's up to my knuckle before I know what's going on! I got the icky glucose drink for the next appointment. I'm trying the lime this time since orange carbinated drinks leave me in a bad way a few hours after drinking them! Hopefully it will go well this time as it did the last.

I'm totally 'feeling' more pregnant now. I think I can bend at the waist from a sitting position and that doesn't work so well. I can no longer sit on the floor with the kids because it takes me forever to get my ass back up. Oh yeah, this doctor said it's not my sciatica that is acting up it's just how she is positioned. Nice. It's odd because it's my tail bone that hurts like hell. Getting up and down is brutal. I feel like a 90 year old woman trying to get up and start walking. Once I'm walking, I'm good to go...but getting there seems to entertain my husband. Nothing but love.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We were supposed to move in two weeks. Chuck decided to see if they would keep the rent the same where we are now. (Considering we have only thought about packing and never actually started, that's really scary!) After that last flood, I told him it was up to him to get it all worked out. Well the new property manager ( who actually got shit done around here after the flood last month...new carpet and paint in the hallway, repairing the ceiling in the hallway) is incredibly good, it's too bad she's leaving in a few months to go back to Texas.

Chuck is just happy he doesn't have to pack up his stuff. Although he still needs to go through everything (he's the biggest pack rat I've ever met) since the office/toy room will soon become the kids' room! I've begun the nesting thing (I think it's too soon, but others disagree) I want everything in it's place so I don't have to worry about any of it any more!

She's on the move!

This is a busy little girl in my tummy! Holy shit! It all started at the end of last week when Chuck was seeing how big she's gotten in there when he got this focused look on his face, which of course freaked me out. He was feeling her 'swish' around in there! So cool!

The last few days I've felt her moving a lot more! Cool, but freaky at the same time. I feel her the most when I'm sitting in the car driving to work or at night when I'm laying in bed trying to be tired! I swear, the other night she just up and kicked three times in a row too. There is no other explanation of what I could have felt! I know, I know, the kicking is jut beginning! I've put it off for 22 weeks, so that isn't so bad! I've felt her, just not on a regular basis like now!

Photos of Christmas In January

The following are finally pictures from last weekend when we met my family in Dubuque. We all had a great time. It was so nice seeing Julia become buddies with Meghan! Cameron was pretty much with Hayley the whole time! He's a chunk, so I don't know how she carried him around as much as she did that weekend!

*********************************************************************************

This photo finds Meghan and Julia patiently waiting to open gifts. They had to pass some time by eating some animal crackers to make that happen. They were pretty much instant friends! It was pretty darn cute to see!

Miss Julia doing her posing thing! I love this kid. She may not have come from me, but good lord does she love the camera like Jacquie

Here we have the boy child. Looking oh so thrilled at being in the pool. It took Chuck a good couple of hours of dipping him in the water to the point where he was able to stick him in the way shallow end. We were able to pull the pacifier before the picture. He looks so happy! He's looking a little tipsy!

Level 2 Ultra Sound

So we are back from the ultra sound. The tech and a doctor thought it is definitely a girl! Duh! She pretty much proved that to everyone when the tech had me go potty and move around bunch to try and get her to move over so she could take some measurements of her face and something else! She never did roll over. The Doctor said eveyrthing looked good. What a relief!

This has been a crazy ass week. I don't think I ever got it posted what we woke up Monday morning at 4:15 am. Another lovely waterfall coming out of the light in the bathroom! Good times, good times! I was hoping to put some pictures up here but I'm not sure if they on the computer yet or not. I guess this time a pipe burst in the attic and soaked everything on our side of the building all the way down to the basement/parking garage! At least this time they pulled the carpet out of the hallway. I wish they would do the same to our apartment, but with only a month left of living here, I'm not going to hold my breath. Really? I just want to get the hell out of this place. What are the odds of two floods in one leasing year? Good grief.

I've still got to get the pictures of the kids posted too. I'm off today. Yay. I've got a bunch of crap to do around here. Although my sciatica is the worst it's been yet. Hopefully I'll be able to get some of the crap done that needs to done around here!

Still no photos to add

We went and got a new computer system (minus the monitor) this weekend, and the husband has been working the closing shift lately so the pics have yet to get to where I need them to be! He opens today and closes tomorrow so I'm sure he'll be up late this evening and has it on his list of things to do!!

I'm dying to post pictures of the kids in the swimming suits. Cameron is still the Michelin baby. Roly poly oly! Julia was actually posing for me in the water, which was pretty funny. The kids got to meet their new cousins (although older) this when we met for my family Christmas! Julia and Meghan buddied up in a matter of time! It was really cute!

Hopefully there will be pictures to be posted later!!

21 weeks!

I didn't realize how long it's been since I've been on here! I'm actually feeling pretty good right now. I'm eating a little more, which is nice. I think I'm actually starting to get hungry every 3 hour instead of 4 hours! I'm not eating as much cereal as before so at least I'm getting a little variation!

I have a couple more things to type about on here, but I'm out of time right now and will type them out when I also have the pictures downloaded to add also!

Frustrated

You know what frustrates me the most right now? When people blame me being sad or upset on "hormones". When really? If they think about it? Chances are I would still be pissed off or upset if whatever it was had happened BEFORE I had gotten pregnant. I think part of it also is that I have no friggin' filter on my mouth whatsoever. So when those certain people say something to me and I react honestly, it confuses them. ESPECIALLY if my initial reaction is to cry. "It's just Jacquie's hormones." Big fat hairy fuck you comes to mind. If people would stop and think about WHY my reaction was to cry or be pissed maybe they'd find something to MY side? Hm? Ya know what I am pregnant. I DO have emotions, fuck, even when I'm not knocked up I'm emotional. My hormones are just a weak ass excuse as to why I'm pissed off to begin with. God help the next person I find out has blamed shit on my hormones. I'm sure those people who haven't been knocked up in many years are blaming my hormones. For those of you that are? Kiss my ass! LOL.

That felt good. Thanks for letting me vent. Ahh. The funny thing is? Is that if people who have had a pregnancy recently or those that really remember being pregnant would also remember that this is the ONE part of my pregnancy (the 2nd trimester) where my hormones don't really come into play!! So my emotional bursts? Yup they were just real, or probably just from some huge disappointment! I'm really getting sick of being disappointed too. That's a post for another day!

Whatever.

I went with a template from the blogger thing. That sucks. It was really cute with polka dots and stuff. How annoying.

Things are the same around here for the most part. I'm back to work now after being off the week between Christmas and New Years. Yay. I was ready.

Chuck caught a cold last week. I had avoided it until this morning. I woke up all stuffy. I'm sure I was snoring up a storm last night. Time to bust out the vaporizer thingy. The Vick's Vapo Rub too. Talk about childhood memories!

I've always liked the name Emma. That's what I thought our daughters name would be, should we have one. HA! Now it's between two other names as well. I have no idea. It's probably going to depend on what she looks like when she finally arrives! The other names are J names too. Chuck and Cameron are C's, Julia and I are J's. So I got it stuck in my head that she needs to have a J name too. Ugh. I'm sure it will end up being Emma in the end! It couldn't have been a boy? Come on. Oh no. It's a girl. The boys name there was no question on that one. Cheese and crackers!

Okay I think I need a nap again! Or maybe a snack. Yeah, I'm thinking a snack now.

Happy New Year to everyone!

crap

So I'm trying to change my template on here to a more girlie one and now all the words have disappeared from previous posts. I'm checking to see if this post has the words. Damn.
